By fundraising we hope to transfer much needed medical/surgical equipment, instruments, books, journals and uniforms which we currently have in our possession. Several donations have been received from local hospitals and medical companies that need to be shipped via a 20ft container costing approximately £3000.
The Shashamane District general Hospital is also in a state of disrepair and our brothers and sisters in particular our Matriarchs and Patriarchs even the pioneer settlers need support. We hope to raise approximately £20,000 to begin work on the clinic and would like to take this opportunity to thank ones for their continued support with the project. In particular, the project recognises the assistance being given by all contributing artists who have given their time and efforts into making this a success. We have received support from artist such as Simeon Sweets, Jah Shepperd, Empress Jahset, Murreyman, Italist, Ramon Judah to name but a few. Tenastar and Claire Angel are on board and, on the international front giving thanks to man like Fred Locks, Determine, Sugar Minott and Sizzla who all fully endorse the project.
All contributing artists have based the tracks on the theme, ‘Let the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, the sick be nourished, aged be protected and the infants cared for’. Special thanks also for the producers who have donated tracks to the project. There are currenltly 5 tracks available and a number of artists have yet to forward their tracks. Wailing Souls for example are working on their tracks and this will soon feature on the album.
Each participating artist and individuals assisting with the project has or will receive a Certificate of appreciation, photographs of those already in receipt can be viewed on the lick it weh website.
